WEC announces 10th annual Christmas Card Art Contest winners
Wiregrass Electric Cooperative would like to congratulate Joseph Borden, a fifth-grader at Cottonwood, for winning WEC’s 10th annual Christmas Card Art Contest! His parents are Matt and Virginia Sams.
Joseph’s wintry scene of stars, snow, rolling hills and power lines captured the judges’ attention, winning him the cover spot for this month’s magazine, a $50 gift card to Michaels craft store and a featured spot at wiregrasselectric.coop.
“The judges loved Joseph’s picture, and they were excited to make it our official Wiregrass Electric Cooperative Christmas card this year,” says Jennifer Ward, manager of member care.
Joseph will also receive a stack of the WEC Christmas cards so he can pass them out to family and friends.
Kiersten French, a fifth-grader at Webb Elementary, was selected as the second-place winner. Her parents are Scott and Amanda French. Mycah Davis, a fifth-grade student at Rehobeth, won third place overall. Mycah’s mother is Kimberly Davis. Kiersten and Mycah won $25 gift cards and will also be featured at wiregrasselectric.coop.
“The Christmas Card Art Contest is one of the highlights of our year here at Wiregrass Electric,” Ward says. “When the children’s artwork comes flooding in, we have a great time looking at it and seeing all the talent and creativity in our region.”
Winners from each school were awarded a $10 gift certificate, and all students who entered received a gift from WEC.
