Great things are happening in the Wiregrass area! Earlier this week, we attended the ribbon cutting for the Alabama Regional Career Tech Center in Geneva. WEC is proud to have been a part of the development of this center, and excited to see all the great impact that G-Tech is going to have on the lives of our young people. Working together, the people of this region are accomplishing great things! Thanks, of course, go to Alabama State Rep. Donnie Chesteen for being the driving force to make all of this happen.
We hope everyone will take a moment to read this excellent article about the center, its opening, and some of the students its already affected.

WEC has always been a huge supporter of United Way and all they do for our community. That’s why WEC recently applied for and received a $5,000 grant from CoBank. Yesterday, we were pleased to be able to present that $5,000 to the Wiregrass United Way at the new Geneva Regional Career Tech Center as part of the Wiregrass United Way Campaign Kickoff Bus Tour. WEC will also be matching that for a total donation of $10,000. Manager of Communications and Public Relations Jennifer Ward, CEO Les Moreland, COO Brad Kimbro and Manager of Field Services Stevie Sauls were all there to present the check. It was a great event with the Geneva High School band and cheerleaders attending along with Miss Alabama Jessica Procter. Wiregrass United Way does so much for our community and we were honored to be able to help them try and reach their goal! #liveunited #wuwkickoff

We are happy to announce that all of our crews are back home safely after assisting our sister cooperatives in Florida last week in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. These men did an amazing job representing WEC and helped a lot of people who were in need. We are so proud of them and all they did!
