Congratulations to Wicksburg High School’s Beau Sellers who was selected as the Lineman of the Week presented by “The Ball” WOOF Radio and Wiregrass Electric Cooperative. Sellers is a Junior football player for head coach Josh Cox. The Lineman of the Week will be presented every Friday morning this year during football season. The results from the annual meeting election are the following:

In the only contested board of trustees race, District 9 incumbent David Winstead defeated challenger Nolan Laird 806-491.

The new board officers are President Tracy Reeder of District 5, Vice President Winstead, and Secretary Debra Baxley of District 1.

WEC members also overwhelmingly approved the bylaw change by a 1,165-224 vote. This vote now provides WEC even more flexibility in assisting members in their times of need!
