Our linemen and more than 200 linemen from around the state have done a tremendous job this week. They began with 18,000 members without power last week and now have more than 98 percent of those outages restored. They are out working now to restore power to the remaining members and they will not stop until every member is back online! ... See MoreSee Less

Ya'll have done an amazing job thank you for all of your hard work! Many appreciate it even though it may not seem like it when people get nasty or rude!

Got back on line this morning. Thank you for all you have sacrificed for us. A special thank you for the Pea River guys that went above and beyond to make sure I had power to our house. A tree ripped off our meter and box. A friend put it back up but Pea River made sure the line to the house was in place. You all rock.

Thank you for sacrificing your life and time away from your families and homes to help many with out power to rebuild their lives again. Doing such an amazing job. Please everyone have patience. So many are in need of power. All of you are a blessing. Thank you each and everyone.

Thanks to each and every worker, be it local or far from home. God bless each and everyone of you and your families. Thanks is really to insignificant

Thank you so much for all the hard work, long hours and all your sacrifices! God Bless You All!!

Is there a way to report outages not yet repaired?

MAJOR DISASTER/OUTAGE UPDATE: Our crews had a tremendous day yesterday and began work this morning with 286 members without power. Our crews worked late into the evening last night and began before dawn this morning. We are so proud of the effort from all 225 linemen yesterday and are expecting another productive day today. We will not stop until 100 percent of our members are back online!

We want to remind members about the changes to the annual meeting format. The annual meeting will continue as scheduled on Friday but will be an abbreviated version of the normal meeting. This year will have no food, games or entertainment like we normally have and it will be held in the community room at the main WEC office in Hartford.

Registration will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If members have already participated in the mail-in balloting process then there is no reason for them to come. If members have not registered and voted then they are welcome to come to register, vote and then leave.

The meeting will be brief and will follow the agenda laid out in the WEC bylaws. Because WEC is a member-owned cooperative the bylaws require an annual meeting be held.

The meeting will be broadcast live on Facebook Live for members not in attendance.

We are very appreciative for all the support we have received from our members the last week. You are the reason we have been working as hard as we have. All the positive comments, messages and prayers have been greatly appreciated!

Last week our system suffered massive damage. Our area experienced winds and damage not seen in a long time causing 18,000 members to lose power and approximately 500 poles were damaged or broken. A week later we have restored 96 percent of those outages and we could not have made the progress we have made without the help from outside crews.

Today we have 225 workers on our system along with an additional 30 right of way workers with the goal to restore power to the remaining members. These men have come from our sister cooperatives and contract crews. Many of them have been sleeping at the Peanut Festival Fairgrounds on cots. We cannot thank the Peanut Festival enough for their hospitality. Our linemen arrive late in the evening to a hot meal, a shower and a place to sleep.

We want to thank them and everyone else who has reached out to support our cooperative and the linemen who are here helping restore power!
