OUTAGE ALERT: We currently have 42 members without power due to a broken three-phase pole. Crews have been dispatched and are working to replace this pole as quickly and safely as possible. Currently only one of the three phases is out. It is possible that our crews will have to de-energize two additional phases in order to work safely. We are also working to isolate this outage and restore power to as many members as possible while we make repairs. We apologize for this inconvenience and we appreciate your patience! ... OUTAGE UPDATE: Our crews had to de-energize the other two phases on the pole in order to work safely. We currently have 69 members without power. Our crews are on the scene and are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power. We expect the repairs to be complete and all power restored in approximately 1-2 hours. We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this outage may have caused.

Today your cooperative, Troy Cable and leaders from around the Wiregrass met to discuss plans to continue to bring broadband to the Wiregrass area. Those attending the meeting included State Senator Donnie Chesteen, Cindy Pate from U.S. Representative Martha Roby’s office, Sean Strickler from AREA, Taylor Williams from PowerSouth Energy Cooperative and Scott Farmer and Emily VanScyo from the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning Commission. There was a lot of passion in the room today from all of those in attendance who want to help solve this issue and provide this much-needed service to the area. We have made great progress but there is still more work to be done! Our goal is to help provide a reliable internet connection to every home or business in the Wiregrass. We are working every day to make that happen.

Our cooperative was formed 80 years ago to bring electricity to the area and stand in the gap for rural America. Today we are continuing that mission by making sure our area is not left behind!

This morning, our Operation Round Up Charitable Foundation presented a $5,000 check to the Hartford Retirement Village. The donation went toward the purchase of a new handicapped door that will make it easier for residents to go outside and sit on the complex's patio, where they can visit with other residents and enjoy the beautiful weather. This facility is a vital resource for the Wiregrass area, and we are proud to help them improve the quality of life for their residents.

We would like to thank our members. Without their monthly contributions, donations like this would not be possible. Our goal at WEC is to help the Wiregrass be the best it can be, and donations like this help us reach that goal.

Thank you for doing this!!! What a blessing.

The door sure helps the residents out a lot. My mom's arms were always bruised where she struggled to go in and out. Now her arms are all healed up. God is amazing! Thank you! The Village is an awesome place to live my mom loves it, so of course I love it.

Cathleen Koon look at this now do you see mom?
