Vitally important mail will reach Wiregrass Electric Cooperative members soon as the cooperative is sending out the 2020 annual meeting information packet in September.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, WEC officials strongly encourage members to use the mail-in registration and ballot in the packet to participate in this year’s meeting. WEC will operate with a limited presence on the meeting day, October 16, in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
“These packets include everything our members need to know about the annual meeting, along with all the information needed to register and vote by mail,” WEC CEO Les Moreland says. “We are fortunate to have the mail-in option available to us as it allows more members to participate while helping us adhere to social distancing guidelines.”
In addition to the documents needed to participate in the meeting, the packet includes everything members need to qualify for several great prizes. Fourteen members will receive bill credits of various sizes, with two earning credits of $500!
“We encourage all of our members to participate in this year’s meeting via mail, especially since the ballot includes a proposed bylaw change that will assist members during difficult financial times,” says Brad Kimbro, WEC’s chief operating officer. “We appreciate our members’ cooperation, and we hope to see you in person again at the 2021 meeting.”
The 2020 meeting will be live-streamed online.
