Wiregrass Electric Cooperative’s electricity use is historically highest on the coldest day of the year. This peak demand typically occurs between the hours of 6 and 9 a.m. on a day between early November and the end of February.
Members’ contribution to peak demand is reflected on their monthly bill via a $4 per kilowatt demand rate. The total demand charge is different for each of our members because it’s based on their specific kW use during peak demand.
When a peak demand event is possible, we send out alerts. Make sure your account information is current and that we have a cellphone number on file so you can receive these important alerts.
