Kick Off Your New Year With Smart Savings!
Tweak your morning routine to cut costs on your electric bill. During winter peak demand hours from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., small changes add up.
- Shift showers and dishwashing to nighttime.
- Use a programmable thermostat to provide heat only when you need it.
- Set your water heater to rest during peak hours.
- Opt for cold-water laundry and air drying.
Come March, Wiregrass Electric Cooperative will begin billing residential members who exceed 3 kW, or kilowatts, during our coincidental peak. This charge will be based on the member’s peak demand from precise meter data on that day. Lower demand now through February means a lesser demand charge starting in March!
