Wiregrass Electric Cooperative (WEC) is guided every day by cooperative principles. One of those principles is “commitment to community.”
As part of its community-focused mission in serving its members, WEC recently worked with Geneva Parks and Recreation at C.D. Chapman Memorial Park to improve the baseball and softball fields. Lineworkers replaced a lighting pole, upgraded lights, and installed a protective net behind the home plate.
This effort in Geneva is just one of many ways WEC has recently supported recreational facilities across its service area, including in Cottonwood, Slocomb, and Hartford. While the park departments cover some material costs, WEC provides skilled labor and expertise, reinforcing its commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
WEC’s assistance at local parks helps cities and towns maintain enjoyable, well-lit spaces for residents to engage in youth sports and activities safely.
