Christmas Card Contest: Do Your Kids Have Creativity & Christmas Spirit?

Christmas treeWiregrass Electric Cooperative (WEC) invites young artists to participate in our annual Christmas Card Art Contest. Children from kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to enter for a chance to win fantastic prizes — including having their artwork featured on the December cover of Alabama Living magazine.

The grand prize winner will receive 30 printed cards showcasing their artwork, perfect for sharing with family and friends. Additionally, the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Michaels Craft Supply Store to further inspire their creativity. The winning design will be displayed on the 2024 WEC Christmas card and the cover of the December issue of Alabama Living, with full credit to the young artist.

Second- and third-place winners will each receive a $25 Michaels gift card. Furthermore, 1 winner from each school will receive a $10 gift card. Every student who enters the contest will receive a gift from WEC.

Alternatively, you may drop off entries at any WEC office. Please ensure the artwork is not folded. The deadline for entries is Monday, October 7. Winners will be announced by Friday, November 8.

Contest Rules

  • The art contest is open to all students living in the Wiregrass area.
  • Students must be enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade to participate.
  • Artwork must be approximately 8.5 by 11 inches. Do not fold artwork. Vertical drawings are preferred.
  • Artwork should be of a Christmas theme and include “Wiregrass Electric Cooperative.”
  • Artwork must be the child’s original creation.
  • Artwork should be in color (markers, crayons, paint, etc.).
  • This entry form or a reasonable facsimile signed by a parent or guardian must be enclosed with artwork.
  • The deadline to turn in the artwork is October 7.
  • Only 1 entry per child.
