The 2023 Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour

High school juniors can win a Free trip to Montgomery and Washington, D.C.!

Wiregrass Electric Cooperative (WEC) will send 10 students to the Montgomery Youth Tour which will take place March 14 through 16, and 2 of those students will go on to attend the Washington, D.C., Youth Tour held in June. If you’re a high school junior, and your parents or legal guardians are a member of WEC, you are eligible to attend.

Each student selected to participate in the Montgomery Youth Tour will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The two students who go on to attend the Washington Youth Tour will receive an additional $500 scholarship each.

An interview will determine which two students from the Montgomery Youth Tour to go on to attend the Washington tour.

Tour places like the Alabama State House, Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, the Alabama Capitol and the Civil Rights Memorial.

Washington, D.C.
Visit famous national monuments and museums, like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and many others.

The Youth Tour Program is your chance to visit the state-Capital-and possibly event the nation's capital! Get a firsthand look at our state and nation's history and learn about the role your cooperative played in that history. Students also develop leadership skills and make friends and memories to last a lifetime.
