Images of Santa Claus, snowmen, candy canes and trees decked in holiday lights are everywhere during the Christmas holiday season, and these classic themes filled the winning submissions for Wiregrass Electric Cooperative’s 2025 Christmas Card Art Contest.
Young artists from the Wiregrass lifted our holiday spirits with their colorful artwork in this annual contest, and we’re excited announce this year’s winners.
Along with the prizes for the winners, one winner from each school received a $10 gift card, and every student who entered the contest received a gift from WEC.
“This contest is truly a joy each year for the cooperative,” WEC’s Manager of Communications and Public Relations Jennifer Ward says. “We love seeing what our young artists in the Wiregrass come up with, and their creativity just brightens an already festive time even more. Their artwork always captures the joy of the holiday season, and we’re proud to celebrate their efforts.”
Emmersyn’s winning art featured all the iconic holiday images — an oversized candy cane, a little “Ho, ho, ho” from Santa and a brightly decorated Christmas tree. As this year’s first-place winner, Emmersyn’s design will be included on the cover of WEC’s 2025 Christmas card along with her message “Christmas Shines Brighter with Wiregrass Electric!” Emmersyn will receive 30 printed cards with her work, as well as a $50 gift card to Michaels craft supply store.
Hudson’s snowman wears a top hat decorated with holly and is snuggled in a warm scarf as snowflakes fall. This young artist even included the message “WEC wishes you a merry Christmas.” Hudson’s talent won him a $25 gift card to Michaels.
A star-topped tree surrounded by gifts and wrapped in colorful lights is the centerpiece in Kinslee’s creative entry. A hanging strand of lights highlights the message “Shine Bright Wiregrass Electric.” Kinslee even included electrical outlets and Santa’s mittened hand as he exits the scene with a “Ho, ho, ho!” As the third-place winner, Kinslee also received a $25 Michaels gift card.
In addition to our top three, each participating school chose a winner to award a $10 gift card. It’s safe to say that the holiday spirit is alive and well in the Wiregrass community.
