Rehobeth student submits winning design
Lorelai Arnold wins 2022 Christmas Card Art Contest
1st – Lorelai Arnold
Fourth grader at Rehobeth Elementary School

Arnold created a scene of a snowman decorating a colorful Christmas tree with holiday lights inside a snow globe. In an inscription, she wishes everyone a “Merry Christmas from W.E.C.”
As the overall winner, Arnold receives 30 printed cards featuring her artwork to mail to family and friends, and a $50 gift certificate to Michaels craft supply store. Her design is featured on WEC’s annual Christmas card and on this issue of Alabama Living.
2nd – Millie Smith
Fifth grader at Wicksburg Elementary Schooll

“Let Wiregrass Electric light up your holiday” reads the message above Smith’s drawing of three holiday light bulbs strung on a Christmas tree.
She received a $25 Michaels gift card.
3rd – Hannah Elliot
Homeschooled fifth grader

Elliot’s design depicts a vivid scene of Santa Claus putting the finishing touch on a Christmas tree. On her card, she writes, “May your Christmas be radiant with Wiregrass Electric Cooperative!”
Her submission also won her a $25 Michaels gift card.
In addition, judges selected a winner from each school represented in the competition and awarded each of them a $10 gift card.
“Lorelai’s artistic talent and skill really dazzled in her submission by incorporating multiple art mediums to create such a lovely scene,” says Jennifer Ward, WEC’s communications and public relations manager. “She certainly captured the spirit of the holiday season and Wiregrass Electric Cooperative is thrilled to spread the joy on our Christmas cards this year.”
We were impressed with the participation and appreciate area schools and parents for encouraging artistic expression from so many students this year! Thank you!
